Of course not. Griefing is intentionally ruining the game for your teammates. Beeing a better player isn't griefing at all and most games also it's quite common to play with and against a high variety of skill. Even in CS there are third party websites who do this on purpose like ESEA.

In WoW Arena it is common to play against world cup winning player and nobody cries "smurfs" there for example.

It's not like intentionally ruining the game (griefing) but still disruptive nonetheless. I think smurfs shouldn't be banned like griefers but there should be systems in place to identify smurfs asap and let them play against each other (like game like league of legends have been doing for years)

Smurfing is griefing, period.

While smurfing you deny other players a fair fight. The purpose of the ranking system is to provide maximum fun for everyone.
What is most fun for everyone ? ....playing against equally skilled players.

When you intentionally try to get a much lower rank than your actual skill level just to get some easy kills on less skilled players is utterly pathetic.
And because you need to please your egoistic pathetic urge to get some ez kills, boosts your kd ratio, or want to show off your 'skills' in a sad yt vid or whatever.
So for 9 other players the game is ruined, and not have the fun they expected to get, and waste their gametime just because 1 pathetic troll.

Yes, people who smurf are worthless rejects with nothing to live for so they waste countless hours playing vs people they know aren't as good as them to boost there small pp ego

Plainly it is, you are someone of a higher skill group intentionally playing against lower ranked people who you will have an advantage over. People who smurf will say its not to try and justify that it isn't so no point there. Some will say it's so they can improve their skill in other aspects of the game but that still doesn't make it fine since your average skill and knowledge will be higher overall. When you stomp on a low ranked lobby especially the upper tier ranks playing in silver/low gold nova you are ruining the fun and overall enjoyment of the game for the other team.
