Thanks for nothing CSGO support team
I've opened two tickets complaining about this issue where CS2 is installed alongside CSGO forcibly on Linux even though its not playable just sitting there consuming +25GB (50GB in total) and you guys closed both tickets with generic answers not even addressing the issue.

i get that you guys must be dealing with a barrage of impatient kids begging to play CS2, but you couldn't at least acknowledge this issue.

its hilarious that this is the only game on the entire steam library presenting this issue and its from Valve...

And what do you want us regular users to do about your issue?

Thats why you read a faq befor installing stuff on a small hard drive. I agree its stupid that its installing an unsupported version, but its also partly on you. Also we can really help you, except telling you to deinstall an install again hoping its gone. Or manually removing the cs2 folder, if there is one

well, i have to boot into windows to play it where i just use Linux exclusively for everything, and it gets old really quickly, and CS2 gets boring quickly because of how limited it is right now, believe me.

Actually i have a hamster powered drive (huge and slow), not for csgo though, which is a standard SSD

Not supporting Linux or MAC for the "Limited Test" was a decision they made to focus on the main demographic, Windows players.

feel lucky that its not 100 gb just waiting space on your drive, great example is warhammer: vermintide 2

89gigs games today waste so much space, anyone remember when a computer had less then 2 gigs of harddrive space, steam first came out, counterstrike 1.6 was like 250 mbs to install

At this stage getting it to run smoothly on some random version of Linux would be an impressive feet of engineering indeed.

i know, not a problem really, i just don't want to have it unnecessarily on my system if i'm not playing it (not being able to actually)

i get your point, wine/proton gets it for free because it doesn't have that many dependencies, and windows games ships statically with them...

on the other hand it is hard to support various distros, but they currently already do it for Dota 2 so i think they already have the experience there, also they could release it and leave it for the community to figure it out in the meanwhile, linux gaming is all about tweaking stuff...
