There's just way more cases being opened than there are cases dropping, and a ton of the older supply is also on abandoned accounts/inventories.
it's mostly cuz of cs2 , they never got so high before it...
i had 7 riptide cases and they never went above 3 euro before cs2, after they got to 4.5 and stayed there for a while , sold my cases and now they are at 5 euro :D
yeah but it got higher cuz you can't get it anymore unless you buy it being an operation case.
look at the price of vanilla knives!!!!! it's insane
it's largely cs2, but it's also the increase in player base pushing up demand by reducing supply at a faster rate
i hate it, because i can't afford a decent knife anymore, my god it makes me feel sick how expensive a decent knife costs now
march 2021: 987,993
compare that with the peak player count last month
march 2022: 1,519,457
that's an increase of 531,464 for peak player count, which means that the actual number of players increased by significantly more than that because people around the world don't all play at the same time obviously
so when you get millions more players all wanting skins/agents/cases/stickers/etc
well, the answer is obvious, prices go nuts because the supply is limited (unlike the items that are available for sale from the ingame store, those won't see a change at all)
skins are going to be 1:1 with updated gun models. Some skins and knives looks really good with the new lighting and models. you can find the videos of every skin for every gun on youtube.
but cs2 knives/guns are a significant upgrade in that department
for a prime example of this, compare the default duel berettas between csgo and cs2
or the vanilla gut knife
they're worlds apart
the updated graphics have opened up the doors for a flood of new players and returning players
and of course, anyone who had skins is coming back because their inventories have exploded in value
not only that, but the number of different types of skins/stickers/knives/gloves/etc is also ever increasing, the cs package is growing more and more attractive and just playing the game earns you money in the form of drops, it's a win/win system and it's only going to get better and better
edit: it just sucks for anyone who didn't buy a decent knife before prices went crazy
but honestly i've never seen such low listing quantity on the community market. i think there are a lot of people squireling these cases like nus into storage units. that's causing price volatility. i only have 100's hat off to those who have 1000's of them from years ago
graphics one of the biggest flaws? not even a little , most people play with low graphics anyway. We all know what are the 2 biggest flaws of counter strike in general.
ok, you got me there, i have to admit i actually play on lowest graphics too lol
and you're right, the biggest problems aren't graphics related
all i can do is admit when i'm wrong, and i'm wrong here
edit: i'll put it this way then, the upgrade in graphics wasn't necessarily a problem, but it may have turned off potential new players who make their choices based on how games look on youtube gameplays, because before people play a game, graphics is one of the biggest factors when pulling in new players for most games these days
but you're right, it wasn't an issue for a large portion of people who were already playing the game
