How to see float on Steam Market?
If you buy skins on Steam Market, you probably know this: Steam shows only the visual wear (Factory New, Minimal Wear, etc.) but does not show the exact float value. And that value often determines the real price.
Two «Factory New» skins of the same item can cost very differently: with float 0.001 – expensive, with float 0.065 – already close to Minimal Wear, and you shouldn't overpay for it. Without float, it's easy to buy an average copy at the price of a perfect one.
How I solved this?
I installed a simple browser extension Steam Inventory Helper (works in Chrome, Firefox, Edge). After installation, just hover over any skin on the market – and the exact float appears in a tooltip (e.g., 0.0032 or 0.7845)
No copying, inspect links, no extra steps. Everything right on the Steam page
What else does this SIH extension give (as a bonus):
shows current price and price history graph;
calculates total value of your entire inventory;
works not only on market but also in your inventory and trade windows.
I've been using it for a few months now and saved a good amount of money because I stopped buying overpriced high‑float items. Trading became easier too
The extension uses only public Steam data, so no risks for your account

new steam market already has this feature integrated, you can search for individual float valued skins without needing to scroll down pages to find one.
you will have to find it its usually under the selected skin so yeah! have fun dude :steammocking:
This should be pinned: float info is essential when comparing prices
Bro, you saved me. Almost bought a 0.069 FN for full price -SIH showed it was 0.065, found a 0.008 for the same price
Does it also show float for items inside cases, or only unboxed?
I was looking for a way to check cs2 inventory value and stumbled on this - float is a nice bonus.
Tested on Chrome: hover delay is very short, maybe half a second. Also shows price history and super useful

No – cases don’t have float, only unboxed items. But SIH still shows the market price of the case itself

Works on Firefox too, I already had a similar extension but didn't notice the float option, thanks for pointing it out
I usually look at the average price over the last 7 days on Steam Market and multiply by quantity. Good enough for a rough estimate
Wait, so you just hover and it shows float? I installed SIH right away and it works perfectly
