The game doesn't have a normal internet connection. But it's full of scripts blocking player accounts without cheats. And an endless stream of anonymous accounts that don't register anything. It's just a toxic scam of baiters with cheats for a few dollars. You don't need to run this anymore. I've been convinced of this once again.
It does for me, is your connection not stable?
It does for me too. It simply means you aren’t using an infected Wallpaper Engine background. Ham, I need you to read this carefully and consider the nuances:

What Predator discovered is sort of off‑topic, but not really — there’s a Wallpaper Engine vulnerability tied to how interactive wallpapers work. It’s not just “bad wallpapers.” Wallpaper Engine supports application‑type wallpapers, which are actual executable programs running as your background. Attackers have been abusing that to run code the moment the wallpaper loads.

Security researchers found malicious wallpapers dropping backdoors, infostealers, and even patched system DLLs that can hijack active Steam sessions. That’s why Predator keeps bringing it up — the attack chain touches both Wallpaper Engine and how Steam handles Workshop content, session tokens (this becomes important in a moment), and app behavior.

Steam already removed a bunch of the malicious uploads, but the vector still exists because executable wallpapers are still allowed. So when Predator mentions instability or weird behavior, he’s pointing out that some of these infections can mess with Steam’s connection handling and how certain apps communicate with Steam servers.

Thing is, this can be used to disrupt and redirect users queued for matchmaking in Valve games like DOTA 2, CS2, and TF2 by interfering with the network layer those games rely on. If the malware hooks into Steam’s session handling or modifies how the client resolves servers, it can cause players to be routed to the wrong region, dropped from queues, or pushed into unstable lobbies — even into public servers where Valve can’t easily tell whether it’s official, which is how bot farms end up getting item drops. Predator’s point is that the Wallpaper Engine exploit isn’t just a “desktop wallpaper issue” — once something gets into Steam’s process space, it can affect anything tied to Steam networking, including matchmaking behavior.

there is no anti-cheat on such servers, and cheaters play there

I found the configuration files of a script that sends data to crooked hacked servers in Discord, where scammers boost and cheat in games. I don't know how to fix it, but it may require a complete system reinstallation. The script is activated by pausing the game with F1
These are deranked scammers who troll in regions where the internet doesn't work. This is a similar hack:steamsalty::steamthumbsdown:
Cs Stats writes that the games on the account are paused, but in fact, the games continue to run on their servers for boosting with cheats:enteringsteamvr:
I don't know if they're still breaking the player's config through the console
Be careful in games and remove these buttons from the controls in the game settings! ! !:csgocross:

I highly recommend reporting it to Valve, but not on this platform 😳

valve isn't known to really do much with bug bounty program, that's implying they didn't suspend it. Plenty of security researchers got denied or blocked even for trying to query about any fixes for the reported RCEs.
just don't play community servers with turned on community downloads, it's a disaster in source games. only raw map files.
Does anybody know what OP is talking about?

This bug needs to be fixed as soon as possible. I think there are more variations of it. I often notice this kind of weirdness with the game since the release of Cs2
Can you maybe show us whats happening?
