vac cooldowns for "irregular gameplay"

playing with my friend and he keeps getting his gameplay flagged as "irregular", which in turn gets me the ban too because we're in the same party ...

we BOTH checked his pc looking for anything that could be causing these issues and bro literally has NOTHING even remotely close to being counted as a cheat, he's not using any macros, his mouse and keyboard have none too.

It’s not a rumor when you look at the vast majority of the complaints and which accounts are making them. In other words, Ham, they’re cracking down on suspected smurfing. The collective punishment is by design, and if it wasn’t the OP or their friend, it could easily be someone who got queued with them automatically

seems like whatever update to vacnet they did is causing actual false positives. was flagged for a comp match of dust2 where i kept buying scout and was playing pretty well.

I was recently banned for 31 days for irregular gameplay, even though I was playing normally without any cheats. Could someone tell me what’s going on? Is it possible that VACnet is bugged?

I said that some cases most likely involved ghosting, based on the circumstances I referenced. I did not claim that Valve explicitly identified those cooldowns as being for ghosting (seriously, why would they reveal that). What specific statement was false, and what evidence disproves the inference I made?
