Subject: Serious Concerns About Trust Factor and Matchmaking Quality in Counter-Strike 2
I am writing to express my serious frustration with the current state of Counter-Strike 2, particularly its Trust Factor matchmaking system, anti-cheat protection, and overall gameplay quality.

I have approximately 4,000 hours of playtime on my Steam account, and I find it extremely disappointing that the quality of matchmaking can be so inconsistent. I frequently encounter suspicious players, newly created accounts, and players whose behavior raises serious concerns about fair play.

What makes this even more frustrating is that experienced players who have invested thousands of hours into the game are regularly placed in matches where the overall quality of gameplay is extremely poor.

1. Trust Factor and Matchmaking

I understand that Steam Support cannot manually adjust Trust Factor scores and that the exact calculation criteria are confidential. However, players should not be left without any meaningful explanation or assistance when they experience persistent matchmaking problems.

I would like to ask the development team:

How can an account with thousands of hours of legitimate gameplay end up in matches with suspicious or seemingly inexperienced accounts?

Is the Trust Factor system effectively identifying players who use cheats, smurf accounts, or engage in disruptive behavior?

Does the system take account age, playtime, community reputation, and previous reports into sufficient consideration?

Why are legitimate, long-term players expected to simply keep playing without any way to request a meaningful review of their matchmaking experience?

2. Hit Registration and Headshot Inconsistencies

Another major issue is hit registration and headshot mechanics.

There are situations where I use an AK-47, land multiple shots on an opponent, sometimes even register 27 damage in one hit, yet fail to secure a kill despite the opponent exposing only their head.

At the same time, opponents using SMGs seem capable of landing extremely easy headshots and eliminating me in situations that feel completely inconsistent.

Why does the game sometimes feel so inconsistent when it comes to hit registration, headshot detection, and weapon performance?

A competitive FPS game should reward accuracy, positioning, reaction time, and skill. Players should be able to trust that their shots are registered correctly and consistently.

3. New Accounts and Suspicious Players

Another serious concern is the enormous number of newly created accounts appearing in matches.

I frequently encounter players who seem to have very little understanding of the game, its mechanics, or even basic competitive gameplay.

Players who have no understanding of how Counter-Strike works should not constantly be matched with experienced players who have invested thousands of hours into improving their skills.

The matchmaking system needs to do a much better job of separating players according to their actual skill level, experience, and competitive behavior.

4. A Much Stronger Anti-Cheat System

Counter-Strike 2 desperately needs a significantly stronger and more effective anti-cheat system.

I believe Valve should consider implementing stricter enforcement measures, including hardware bans and IP-based restrictions where appropriate, for confirmed cheaters and repeat offenders.

Simply banning an account is not enough when offenders can immediately create another account and return to the game.

The anti-cheat system should be capable of identifying repeat offenders, detecting suspicious activity more effectively, and preventing banned players from easily returning to ruin matches for legitimate players.

Of course, these measures should be implemented carefully to avoid punishing innocent players through false detections or shared IP addresses.

5. What I Expect from the Development Team

I am not asking for special treatment or an artificially increased Trust Factor. I am asking for:

A fair and reliable matchmaking system.

A significantly stronger anti-cheat system.

Hardware and IP-based bans where justified.

Better detection of cheaters, smurf accounts, and repeat offenders.

Better separation of players according to their actual skill and experience.

More consistent and reliable hit registration.

Improvements to headshot detection and weapon mechanics.

Greater transparency regarding the problems affecting matchmaking quality.

Counter-Strike has a dedicated community, and players deserve a matchmaking system that protects the integrity of the game.

I have invested approximately 4,000 hours into Counter-Strike. I want to continue playing this game, but the current situation is becoming increasingly frustrating.

Please take these concerns seriously and make meaningful improvements. Players deserve a competitive environment where skill, experience, accuracy, and fair play actually matter.

We want fair matches, a powerful anti-cheat system, reliable hit registration, and a competitive game — not excuses.
