Premier Rating Lost Due to Cheaters — What Is Valve Doing About This?
Hello Valve Support,

I am contacting you because I am extremely frustrated with the current state of cheating in Counter-Strike 2 Premier mode.

I am a legitimate player. I do not use cheats, exploits, or any third-party software that gives me an unfair advantage. I simply want to play Premier on Valve's official servers and enjoy the game normally.

Recently, I had over 29,000 Premier Rating. Because of the number of cheaters I have encountered, I have now lost around 2,000 rating and dropped to approximately 27,000.

I understand that no anti-cheat system can detect every cheater immediately. I can accept that. What I cannot understand is what happens afterward.

I report suspicious players. VAC Live does not seem to stop them during the match, and in many cases it feels like nothing happens at all. If these players are eventually banned days or weeks later, why is the rating that legitimate players lost to them not restored?

I spent a significant amount of my time playing these matches. I played fairly, lost games against players who were apparently cheating, and lost thousands of rating because of it. If Valve later determines that these players were cheating and bans them, the legitimate players who were negatively affected should not simply be left with the consequences.

I would genuinely like an answer to the following:

What happens to Premier Rating lost against players who are later banned for cheating?
Is Valve planning to restore the rating lost by legitimate players in these matches?
If not, why should legitimate players permanently lose rating because Valve's anti-cheat system failed to detect the cheater during the match?
What is being done to improve VAC Live and prevent this situation from happening repeatedly?

I specifically do NOT want to move to third-party platforms. I want to play Counter-Strike Premier on Valve's own servers. I want to support the official matchmaking system and continue playing the game the way it was intended to be played.

But it is extremely difficult to stay motivated when I can spend hours playing, trying to improve my rating, only to lose thousands of rating because of cheaters while having no meaningful way to recover it.

I am not asking for special treatment or free rating simply because I lost games. I am asking for a fair system where legitimate players are not permanently punished for matches that were ruined by players who violated the rules.

Please explain how Valve currently handles Premier Rating lost against banned cheaters and whether there is any mechanism for restoring that rating.

Thank you.
