its the rendering on the smoke
You have a hard time playing with 70 fps in smoke? Oh BUHU.. I play with 30 fps at all times, on all the lowest settings. In smokes it drops to like 15. So ♥♥♥♥ you :c

Stop running this game on a PS1.

No, it's a GPU limit here. :csgoct:

Proof: The smoke grenade causes the frame drop, demanding much more performance.

Compare this to the framerate without the smoke grenade: 348 instead of 71 fps! :csgocross:

Solution: You should cap your framerate at a level which your graphics card can deliver at any given situation. This will result in super smooth gameplay - Tested and approved: :medicon:
// ingame display framerate limited to effectively 70 frames per second fps_max 71 // menu display framerate limited to effectively 30 frames per second (it's enough) fps_max_menu 31

Note that this is very different from a framerate drop like 350 to 70, which causes delay!

Test it in the console, however keep in mind that you have to insert it into your autoexec.cfg to make it permanent. :csgostar:

Then really try fps_max 71. If your GPU can't handle stable 128 fps, then limiting it to this value is of course not the solution. :D:

You need a stable value which is somewhat above your monitor's refresh rate. For the typical 60Hz LCD monitor, a framerate capped with fps_max 71 will be just fine. :insfist:

BUT i can run bf3 high settings(multiplayer), max rez, stable 70 fps, far cry 3 single player 75 fps(stable), cs go runs on 5v5 with 250 fps sable , only when there are smokes the fps drop appears

So the smokes in :csgoct: CS:GO are definitely the cause for the framedrop, nothing more to say here. It's finally up to you if you do want to take care of the issue with your config.
