Why Crouch?
Sooooo I constantly see people crouching while firing and the question is why? It changes absolutely nothing. In fact you are lowering your head to hip level so I don't even have to aim high to get headshots.

While I LOVE the other team doing this - when i see team mates doing it I try to tell them - but most dont listen.

So where did this nasty crouch come from? and why do people do it?

People who say its more accurate are wrong. Do some test patterns against a wall etc etc and you can see for yourself. Like someone pointed out earlier at higher ranks people will always aim at headshot level so adding a quick crouch in when getting in a short range battle can make the difference. You may get away with crouching in some mid fights and will generally almost always loose on long range fights if you crouch.

If you use the dynamic crosshair, it shows your spray radius. While crouching its always very small, walking medium, running large. Even standing still, your spray radius remains lower while crouched.

Yeah the dynamic crosshair is just there for people to get a feel for the game. You are right that is differs but it does not represent fully of whats is going on. If you have a look at some video tutorials on how to use the guns it will all show that it has no effect. Adren and Warowl are pretty good.

Also if you go into a match just spray the wall without moving the mouse crouched and standing, you will see for yourself that is makes no difference. Regardless of standing or crouching the first few shots of most guns will have the same accuracy :).

The only time crouching is ever effective is if the people shooting at you are all aiming for your head. Crouching will throw their aim off, at least at ranges other than point-blank/short. However, people constantly crouching as soon as I see them makes for easy kills, as this seems to be a problem in many public servers.

That's right.
Accuracy becomes nearly pin point when you are crouching and not moving.

You are both wrong. There is no difference - you are not alone, there are litterally hundreds of people I see constantly crouching when they shoot.

Please load a map offline and turn on bullet impacts. Test this for yourself and you will see that there is absolutely no difference.

Aside from my furstration because i see this so often - I really am trying to help people realize that this needs to stop when it comes to firing accuracy.

Crouching for cover or to try dodge headshots is one thing, but what I see? they are ducking and spraying... they aren't dodging headshots and they aren't looking for cover. They *think* it improves the spread of thier spray if they crouch.

I'll say this agian, all weapons cept the Deagle have a preset Bullet pattern. This is an unchanging pattern that does not change when you are stationary and standing or crouching.

The deagle is the only weapon I know of that has a totally random bullet pattern.
I didnt crouch in average gameplay.
Until i loaded css. Then i looked at a wall with several distances.

I've never said crouching decreases recoil, it just improves accuracy. For example, if you shoot with an AK while standing on long range, bullet probably won't hit exactly where were you aiming. Crouching fixes that.

Some people are just black or white thinkers. Let those who think crouching is 100% bad keep yelling about it. They'll be the guys standing and running trying to get headsots from a long distance, and failing.

its stupid to crouch long range cuz ur not moving and ur easier to hit but in close range its ok to crouch sometimes cuz if ur playing good players they will be aiming at head level and if u come out crouch and spray at their head u will usally get the headshot before they do cuz they have to pull down. Just dont get in the habit of doin it all the time cuz crouching does nothing to impove ur aim

That would make perfect sense if it was true.

There is no spray radius in CS:GO

Example: For M4 and AK it is the shape of a captial letter "T" and it never changes - you can spray a wall standing there. Look at the bullet holes. Crouch aim for the first bullet hole from when you were standing and spray. Look at the bullet holes agian. They will be in the exact same place.

Repeat this as many times as it takes to prove that bullet patterns are unchanging no matter your position while stationary.

Use sv_showimpacts 1 to see bullet impacts.

Utilizing crouching for skill movement and throwing off enemy aim is super common in pro matches. Theu actually do crouch a lot. Its a bad habit when you crouch and tap, crouch walk and spray/tap, crouch around corners, etc. When someones crosshair is pointed at head level at a corner, you can quick peak, croucj to throw off their aim, and kill them. It can gain you crucial milliseconds that you need to get a pick. You just need to utilize it correctly.

Exactly - Vrill

I agree 100% there.

Oh the elitist players who are not even pro lol I can't help myself, I have to right? Yeah I do! I play with a pad and I crouch all the time, the game is for fun, let anyone who wants to play in whatever way they like, but like me they should stick to casual. Do me one favour though guys, never play casual because whiney players like you who try and give orders annoy the hell out of us low level skill casual players.

Fun fact: You can be good at a game AND have fun at the same time. You don't have to choose, you really don't. I'm not having less fun by not crouching when I shoot. In fact, I'd argue that I'm having more fun because I'm not dying constantly and am able to play more and not sit in spectator mode.

The fact alone that you think that doing something that every non-newbie CS player does is reserved only for the 'pros' shows your ineptitude and how thinly-veiled your unsupported argument really is.

It's the equivalent of a F2Per in TF2. Being bad at a game does not mean that you are having more fun. Not knowing the bare basics of how to play the game does not mean that you are somehow having fun and that I am not.

Your inability to read is funny, I at no point state that fun can only be had while being bad (you trying to argue over fun is funny in itself to me), nor only pro's don't use crouch lol I didn't even claim that I had more fun, just that fun can be had regardless of play type.

Can't help but notice you have under 100hrs yet you're spouting off like you're the best at this game, just so you know you are the worst kind of community gamer, constantly hounding people to do it your way.
