CS:GO Inventory and Family Share
My brother bought the game a while back and shares his library with me on a different PC through the family share program. I can play casual and competitive modes, but upon trying to access the inventory I always get an error that says:

"Failed to retrieve your items from the server. Please try to access your Inventory at a later time"

I have verified the integrity of the game cache, and reinstalled and this problem still persists almost a month later. I get this prompt from accessing inventory from both the main menu, and in game.

Is this intended? If the game is shared via steam Family Share program are you just not supposed to have access to this feature? As far as I can tell Valve didn't put in any text saying anything about this, and you can still purchase crates without having the ability to open them.

Obviously, the game doesn't share the inventory via Family Sharing. If you want your own inventory, you should get your own account with your own copy of CS:GO. :csgoct:

A guest will have access to the lender's DLC, but only if the guest doesn't also own the base game. Guests may not purchase DLC for a base game they don't own. Any player may purchase, trade, earn, or otherwise acquire in-game content while playing a game, but in-game items cannot be shared between accounts. These items remain the property of the account that purchased or acquired them, whether borrowing or lending the base game.

since the gorilla revived this thread i am gonna answer you all. Family shared games wont let you acces your inventory or play competetive. You can still play arms race , deathmatch , casual , demolition and community servers-
I cant play any online modes
