Example : DAYZ STANDALONE , City elecktro i5 25 - 30 fps i7 50 - 60 fps
( Dayz have very bad optimization only 8 cores you get good fps)
i7 is better or .... AMD FX 8 core 4ghz very nice CPU low price ...
Sorry for my english
I prefer i7 if you have money for it though because i7 sounds so nice.
My i7-860 is ♥♥♥♥♥♥ though
got another PC with a core2duo @2,9GHz (and some hd 5XXX whatever) which runs CS:GO and every other source game buttersmooth.
i5's are the usual gamer's choice, since they're a good mix between price&performance. (and the "XXXXk" models can be OC'ed like crazy)
i7's if you have the money and some games that can make a use of it's HT feature or are actually capable and optimized enough to use their potential, or if you also are a 3D-GFX designer-type-of-guy or if you're a heavy video editor. those 3D-modeling, image and video tools usually can utilize more than 4 threads. (note: "XXXXK" models, like the i5's, have good OC potential, especially, if you disable HT and save some vcore)
i7's are also a nice investment. i have an i7950@3,7GHz-HT-disabled.
quite old but i haven't yet played a game which showed it it's limits. hell, i can run high-end games with lots of shadows and/or reflections rendered by the CPU and convert a video at the same time while listening to music on firefox via youtube w/o performance loss.
the architecture of i7's are generally way superior to i5's.
muche like nvidia's fermi vs kepler. even tho a GTX580(fermi) is almost as good as a GTX660ti(kepler), in terms of raw technical data, the 660ti will perform way better.
my post also applies to AMD/ATI equivalents.
Uhmm... no?
