How to make a local server in which friends can join me?

I tried:

> opening the console and type "map mapname" (an example; without quotes). Map loaded, but the other person couldn't connect to me. sv_lan was already on 0......
> choosing Play Offline with bots then again.... sv_lan was on 0..... My friend couldn't connect.....

What the hell should I do so friends can join me??? I want to play both normal and custom maps with them.

In CSS, it was really easy. You created a local server from the main menu and then typed in console sv_lan 0 and changing a map. Anyone could connect to your server (and play ANY map)! But in CSGO, the devs have decided that feature is useles..... -_- f***ing CSGO devs......

EDIT: invite then via Shift+Tab invite

1: Go to play, and select play with friends
2: Select casual, and set the "lobby type" to private
3: Invite friends via the friends list on the left side of the screen
4: Setup settings, and maps. PS: You CAN use workshop maps! Just select Workshop maps ( i think it says) at the top of the map selection screen!
5: Start the game once your friends have joined, and all the settings and maps are set.
SOMETIMES THIS WON'T WORK Make sure your friends enter the game with you. If they are unable to join your game, try again, and if it's still no use, ask another friend to host the game in this same way.

thats just an extansion on what i said, but yes your correct. TBH IMO its easier than CS 1.6

In the lobby, I am limited to the default maps (pheonix; defuse; hostage). Also, what settings to customize? There's NONE. Just the lobby type: private or public -_-

All I want is to be able to host a custom map (which IS NOT on the Workshop). But it seems Valve doesn't allow us to do so........ We can choose only from default ones + workshop ones.....

In CSS it was so simple... I wrote above about it.... WHY NOT in CSGO as well? Stupid CSGO devs........

can you give me an exaple of a non-workshop costum map? theres maps on the workshop that have 0 gravity and skieing and ♥♥♥♥

You guys are so stupid.... He want to play "De_dust2, inferno, mirage. And all the orginal maps. No workshop map!
But it dont work to play the orginal maps with friends without finding other players..

Type in "Bot_kick" if u dont want any bots.

I came across this while trying to test a custom map I've been working on, this works fine, just download any workshop map and start a game on that, then use changelevel to change to the map you actually want to play. I just wanted to clarify that this works for custom maps that aren't in the workshop as well as the official maps, or really any map inside CS:GO's map folder. So it's a quick and dirty way to test out custom maps with friends.

Same here.
I made a map but when I upload it on the workshop, subscribe it and wan't to start it it gives an error about no dedicated servers or something.
And I can't find any solutions for it on the whole fcking internet but a few people that has the same problem as me.
And I think its impossible to play with friends if its not on the market.
