* Get MVPs
* Play against higher ranked players (if you win against them then you should be higher ranked then them... is the theory...)
Thats basically it...
IMO, if someone leaves your team and you lose, you shouldn't rank down unless the person that left was in your lobby. (That would prevent people from abusing the system to prevent ranking down). Also, if people from both teams report the server for bad performance, you shouldn't rank down. Six of the seven games that ranked me down were games where two or more people left my team or where the server had stupidly high pings.
feel free to google or wiki "elo ranking system"
A. Abandon
B. get Kicked
C. Don't reconnect in time,
Often resulting in a loss of rank for higher players.
To recap, if you wish to gain rank quickly, get some more training offline or in deathmatch or even casual. Then join a lobby with friends with higher rank, and you will rank up quickly. Remember, if you get carried, you're likely to lose that rank as quickly as you got it by not having sufficient skill to hold your own in that skill level.
This is why you see Silvers with hundreds of wins, and MGEs with only 80 or so.
I hope this helped everyone who needed the info.
Thanks for reading, and happy bomb defusing all.
