Is there a way to get expensive skins without paying money?
I just started playing CS:GO not too long ago and I'm always seeing people with super expensive skins while I have my really cheap ones. I was wondering if there's a way to work my way up to some of those skins. I haven't found any good ways to profit, so I wanted some tips on how to trade properly. I do have some experience trading in TF2, but CS:GO seems alot different. I've seen some videos of people trading up with the contract but I'm not sure if it's worth it.

Thanks in advance,

Sometimes you have to just buy sknis off the market, you can also make $$$ off of new cases when they are added in. Then after that trade up, your lower prices skin plus skins for the other person to sell for a better skin.

If they were so easy to get wouldn't there be more of them? Which in turn would make them worth less?

There is no easy way to get rich.
Have fun playing the game? Skins do nothing for you.

There are a lot of good skins that don't cost a lot of money and look good. They are not rare even if valve wanted to make them. So for about 10$ you can get a full loadout of factory new skins mil-spec up to classified. But you can't profit without spending some money. You can grind for skins, but even if a mil-spec (blue) skin drops for example, it will be ultra rare. It's easier to just pay 0.10$ for that skin. Besides, the game is cheap so you shouldn't have a problem to spend at least 10-20$ more for skins/stickers if you really wish to do so.

Another thing to do is sell crates when they start dropping. Especially new crates. You can get 5$ per new crate, and if you buy the operation pass you will get double the drops and exclusive operation cases which you can also sell. So you can dough around 10$ per operation if you pay the pass of 2$, if you are lucky. Plus more drops, a coin and new maps. With that money you can buy skins, nametags, etc. Or games if you wish. It will take some time, but at least it's free and you can only profit. Otherwise just pay up and buy if you don't want to wait.

if there was a way to profit on cs go, people would be exploiting it.
theres a few ways to make money(but there is risk involved)

1. when a new operation/ case collection comes out, try to get a case ASAP, either open hoping to get a rare item/ stat track and sell, or sell the case for >$5. you may wait a long time to get a case drop(bajillion threads on this board about no drops)

2. trade up using contract for rare items- buy 10 of the lower rarity skin to get a valuable rare skin. most of the time buying 10 skins costs as much or more than the value of the rarer skin. in other cases you have a chance of getting a rare skin and making a profit, or getting a skin that will give you a huge loss (e.g. glock fade and mp9 bulldozer, ak-47 red laminate and golden koi), so there is a huge gamble in those contracts. the price of the lower item's is often close to 10% of the rarer item.

3. Buy cases when they are cheap and sell them once they stop dropping. e.g. bravo cases were around 11c at the end of bravo but now they are 1.10. you have to be patient for the cases to get to the right price before selling- i can't see bravo cases increasing beyond $2.00 as there are alot of people doing this and have heaps of cases. if you go this route you have to buy up cases that have items people want to gamble to get(stat tracks as well as rares like asiimov's, fire serpent,....)

4. Buy weapons that you believe will increase when they stop dropping- purple rares (glock fade, deagle blaze,....).when a new case collection comes out all other gun prices drop (including these) and it takes a while for prices to get back to where they were before.

hope this helps
