It isnt necessary for the multiple cores though, with the i7 thats just over the top and not necessary for me as I am making a budget build
If wanting budget sure go with the dual core. But later down the road if updates, or newer games need more then the i5 may have been a better choice. Of course by then you may have the funds to upgrade.
I just know
That Csgo is more geared towards cpu. But I am also the type that I try to get the best I can. If I only have 60$ then I get the best I can with that. If I have 200$ I get the best I can with that.
If you have x amount of money for the build I look at options. Like less ram if you have a good graphics card as ram can get added easily later. Same with hard drive.
