Movement keys sometimes stop working
Sometimes while playing CS:GO, a movement key (wasd) will stop working for a moment. This may also apply to other keys like reload and grenade binds and whatnot, but of course I don't use those as often as movement and haven't noticed them.

"Stops working" can mean either I'm holding the key down to move forward and the character suddenly stops, even though I'm still holding the key; or the key doesn't respond the first time when I press it. Letting up on the key and pressing it again always works, but of course that's not ideal. There have been many times when I turned to run away from gunfire but just stood still and got shot to pieces since the movement didn't register. The game itself isn't laggy at all and I'm not getting low frames or anything like that.

The problem started around three weeks ago-- I got a new mouse right around the same time, but I've tested with several mice and the problem persists regardless of which mouse I'm using. I've heard people say that it might be a matter of the computer only registering a certain number of keys at a time, but that can't be the problem since this happens whether I'm using mulitple keys or not (and of course, I've been playing fine long before this started happening). I've tried verifying the CS:GO files on my computer and 2 were re-acquired, but I'm still having the same problem. This also can't be a ping issue, because I've got low ping and I still have problems when I'm offline with bots.

Is anyone able to shed light on the situation?

some keyboards aren't able to handle multiple keypresses perfectly
lookup keyboard ghosting and see if that might be what's causing it

AI'm pretty sure that keyboard ghosting isn't the problem, because this issue can happen even when I'm only using one or two keys on the keyboard at a time. Additionally, I looked up some specifics on keyboard ghosting (https://www.microsoft.com/appliedsciences/antighostingexplained.mspx) and I never use any of those ambiguous key patterns in-game; that would involve me holding three movement keys simultaneously, which doesn't make sense movement-wise. Also, this doesn't explain why sometimes I'm using one key to move, and it suddenly stops working even though I'm holding down the key. Last, this problem has never happened before in the couple of years that I've had this computer; keyboard ghosting is a problem directly related to the hardware of the keyboard and I feel like I would have noticed it before and not just suddenly a few weeks ago.

any luck spark? I seem to be having the same issue now to, I almost want to clean install windows again since I installed counterstrike again and still its an issue.

Sorry, no luck. It's actually stopped being an issue for me; I haven't been playing quite as much counterstrike recently because of school, but I haven't noticed this problem happening in the last while that I've been playing. I have no idea why it's stopped (at least for the time being -_-), as I pretty much gave up on fixing it and haven't done anything new. I wouldn't be at all surprised if it started up again lol.

If it's at all relevant, or just for the sake of comparing to your situation: I'm running on an averagey Toshiba laptop that's somewhere around 2 years old, using a Razer Deathadder mouse. I didn't mention the laptop before because I didn't want to deal with people insisting that it was a cheap hardware problem haha.

Best of luck!

Are your keyboards wireless by any chance?

lol well I have a nice i7-5790 4.7ghz.... ngvidia gtx970.. 16gb 2133 ram... SSD... death adder 2013 mouse with corsair k70 rgb keyboard.... so I don't think hardware for me is any use... it will happen to mouse and keyboard randomly possibly at the exact same time...sometimes if im walking (shift + W) .... my guy might start to run cause shift apparently gets un pressed?? lol and same situation with u... hold "w" and outa no where hell stop walking.... and 1 time!!!! 1 time!!! I was shooting and it stopping shooting... I thought I was out of ammo... nope had to reclick and hold mouse 1

This problem is a real nuisance haha. My keyboard isn't wireless, I use the one right on my laptop.
Exact same issue started today. I use a USB gaming keyboard. Which was working just fine until now.
I did a typing test, When I hold the keys, they don't pause ever. On Skyrim it works fine, only does it on CS:GO

Like this: I press and hold A or D (sometimes W does it too) And character takes a step, pauses, takes a step, pauses, takes a step... and goes on.
When on ghost (or spectator mode) I can move freely until it does once, then does it continuously

If it's a older keyboard it just might be the old age, corroded contact pads and such, especially on cheaper keyboards.

I had a problem kinda like this, but my d key got "stuck". I had to unbind it then re-bind it to get it working again. I also found a pretty nasty bug in the menu where if hit escape too fast while opening any menu bit that requires a mouse, you just get locked out of anything, Moving, looking around, typing, even opening the menu again. You can't even alt+f4, you have to manually close the program.

I'm having this issue right now, that's why I bumped the topic instead of making a new one
Also, when I press and hold Tab, the scoreboard opens, closes, opens, closes rapidly. Only on CS:GO, again. other games work fine.
