How do i spray people with the ak from mid range?

i cant seem to do it. I could do it on a wall but when it gets real i cant do it. I end up holding my recoil down for like 2 seconds before i kill them(lucky shots) tI let my ak fire the first 2 shots, then i duck and move my mouse down a little, rthen stand back up and hold. Am i doing it wrong?

I just imagine, every bullet goes further towards the sky than the last. So when you spray just keep moving your mouse down, from their neck, to their crotch, to below their feet.

See if you can maintain the same "height" of your spray.
Spray left and right, try to keep your bullets in a straight line. People are moving, walls don't.

It's the number 1 problem of this game.

You can also go into your own private game offline with bots, turn on unlimited ammo and get use to how the guns spray. Just hold down the LMB and run around dust 2 map trying to get bot kills.

also a question, why do people not use the dot crosshair? its so much easier to see the target from longrange and get headshots

Because not everyone is your clone with the same mind and opinions.

Because when you're 2 inches away from your enemy, and your dot crossheir is a foot away from his head, you're going to adjust to his head, which means you're dead. Because you didn't have to adjust, with a tiny dot, you believe you do, and you'll take longer to shoot. Not always more accurately.

Many use dots in the S>GN range, most adopt actual crosses afterwards. And also varies.

Not much, the first 10 bullets go straight up, sorta.

You are not supposed to hold mouse button 1 at mid range. It takes very few bullets to kill in this game, and whaty you should do at mid range is stutter step (look it up if you don't know it yet) and fire 3-4 shots in burst while aiming head height and dragging your mouse down.

Subscribe to the workshop map recoil masters and practice until it's muscle memory.

Move your mouse gently until the 14th bullet. then start going smootly left and right. And also go in a game with bots (Dust II is the best for that) and practise
