Any tips for aiming and survivability in CS:GO?

I am only Silver II and would like if somebody would give me tips on how to aim better and how to survive a bit longer in matches. So far I only have a 1/1 KDR (Kill death ratio).

play a ton of deathmatch, learn to stutter step when shooting, go practice aim map's, make sure you have mouse acceleration off, learn the gun spray pattern's and compensate...etc.

Watch pro games with a mindset of learning and analyzing.

Also, on the main page you will see the steam workshop. You can get custom made maps to practice aim and spray patterns. Helps a great deal. Knowing how to keep an AK spray nice and tight will do you well. Also, you can play against bots aiming only for headshots to get the levels right.

1 KDR is great for Silver, I had like 0.9 when I was SEM. But you need to be confident and aim for the head even if you don't think you can. Just do it. Don't let your dreams be Silver.

There are many aim training maps that are worth looking at. There are also lots of guides on Steam and on YouTube that teach games skills like aiming and stratergy.

Also it's worth looking at the setups that pros use like crosshair configs and mouse sensitivity etc.

E.g. Olofmeisters settings are:

Resolution: 1024*768 Blackbars Graphics: Very Low & Low on everything.
OS: Windows 7
Sensivity: 1.7 DPI: 400 MHZ: 1000
Windows-Sensivity: 6/11
m_rawinput "1"

1:1 isn't too bad, if you're being tactical and helping your team out with damage, then you're at least trading.

A bunch of choices but the one I liked is Recoil Master by Mr. uLLetical. Well set up, lots of options too.
