I own myself an ASUS lappy with a 880M and I can run lots of games at ultra but CS:GO, nope, doesnt run smooth unless everything at low.
Unfortunately as the saying goes, you can't squeeze blood from a stone.
I just feel it's really weird when a laptop can run big games with no problem but struggle with these less system demanding games.
Guess i have to accept my fate.
But one thing is that when I set the game to lowest settings the FPS is even lower than it is at default settings. Anyone knows why ?
I'm guessing there is probably a bottleneck in performance somewhere. I'm guessing it's the CPU or internal data bandwidth. Also the internal GPU may be optimized for higher quality screen settings. That's all I can think of.
I have a similar problem where adjusting my screen size and image quality has limited affect on fps because my older CPU is holding this games performance back. It's quite a CPU dependant game.
Make sure your power saving futures are maxed out even when on battery.
I had the same problem and what would happen is that my laptop would use half power for my graphics card (gtx 965). Same if I was using the battery. And if on battery and I plugged back in, it would not go back to normal tell I restarted laptop.
