How does the Loadout and inventory system work? (CS:GO)

I've spent ages trying to figure it out but I've gotten nowhere fast. All I know is that you click smomething for nothing to happen then you click another thing for it not to tell you what to do for something to happen then you've just wasted your time as you just start off the game with a pistol anyway.

Because of this, I keep dying. Figures:
Me ----- Pistol, Knife
Him ----- Huge machine gun, grenades, flashbangs, AP.

1. Hit B while in your spawn to go into the Buy Menu.
2. Click a category of items/weapons you want. (e.g.: Rifles, SMGs, etc.)
3. If their name is not highlighted in red, but are highlighted in green, you can buy it. Just click on it to buy.

Reset your controls to default and try again.

Do you see a what looks like a big Simon-Says wheel? if you do, you're in the right place.
If you don't, you may be playing on a Community Server that only supports the selection of weapons with number keys 1 through 0.

I think you're in the right place. You just click the one you want (so long as you have the money for it) and it'll give it to you.

Don't worry about that until you buy/randomly obtain some weapon skins. It just lets you equip some gun skins that look badass.

Well, technically, you're not wrong. But you don't really do anything with your Inventory except, as I said, change around gun skins to make guns look cooler.

no, it just let you equip camos/skins that u earn during ur playtie, don't worry about it

You buy it while ingame through the buy menu and you have it in your hands...
