I see a fair few regulars around, but a lot of new names every day as well.
I play as much as I can, at least 4-5 hours a week minimum, and do see some of the same people.

Its not small by any means, Day of Defeat Source has a small as hell community and I know most of the regular players on a first name basis.

How full is the experience for us Aussies?

Actually fairly good. There are a good mix of good players, as well as annoying bogans. Both deathmatch and competitive are pretty full most of the time.

Not alot of cheaters actually, won 200 and dmg and only seen 2 cheaters ever and they were the same game. I think its still growing in aus but keep in mind the learning curve is massive.

South Africa only recently got their/our own match making servers, and we're not a massive community, but I find that each week I play I encounter a bunch of new players and it's growing constantly.

I'd say it's definitely worth the money. I'm not too sure what the ping from Australia to anywhere else in the world is like, but if it's not amazingly popular in your own country you can always play some international games which is what we did the first two years of the release, the ping isn't great, but it was bearable.

Alot of aussie's play m8, they already have a small competitive community which is growing fast.
