I wanted to play CS GO using my studio monitors, but they aren't positioned far apart enough and I have no speaker stands ;_;
rocking a pair of HD800's for when i want super clarity and a cheapo pair of PC-350s when i am bored and want to game with modest clarity. Yeah the HD800's were worth it only because they are hooked up to a 450$ studio sound card (these you cant buy from a typical computer store)
You don't have to tell me about audio interfaces :^), also typical computer stores are cancer.
Online purchases ftw
they indeed made my heart hurt a little when i swiped my card to buy em. But i got em home and threw em on my 450$ sound card, i was blown away i could hear the casing of bullets hit the ground as i played (well i felt their vibrations anyway).
music was even better the bass was there but its monitor style bass so very low until the song nails a high Db base point.
dont be, i feel like i wasted cash at times. I bought em for audio production purposes originally but they have now become my main music headphones and my "Ok im mad now at this guy" headphones when im online.
Depends on the client really. For my own entertainment both techno and blues rock are my favorite to manipulate and produce (youd be amazed how accurate MIDI's are gettings). I hate clipping the most in music, you know when the volume is pushed beyond the clip point.
I dont mind rap, the problem is its sooo bassy even with my audio production software as well my actual sound board makes it impossible to hear the issues i want to remove (hissing poping, etc) so i end up spending more hours fighting to hear what should be visable to my ears. (yet bass makes it so hard)
Subtle compression is fine but it's overused nowadays.
