Bullets always go above the crosshair when spraying?
With most weapons capable of firing in an automatic fashion, shooting without stopping tends to send your bullets above your crosshair consistently.

This, to me, seems to be a bit broken. The actual recoil does not match the visual "viewpunch" recoil, giving users a false impression of where their bullets are actually going. This isn't the case in any other game I know of, including the other CS games, where any recoil a weapon has is properly shown by moving the user's screen up a tad.

I'm not sure how long it's been this way, or if Valve has any intention of fixing it, but I'm sure that it wasn't the intended behavior.

Before you say "omg it's realistic" (which it actually isn't), or "go back to CoD", I'd ask that you actually read this post first, thanks.

That's the whole point o the shooting in this game. The recoil patterns are mean to be heavy, needing you to pull down the crosshair to mimic it.

I get that, I'm trying to say that the recoil isn't shown to the user properly, giving them a false impression of where their bullets are actually going.

Wait, so are you saying the crosshair should follow where the bullets are going?

I'm confused since i can tell where my bullets are actually going

i think you smoked one to many bowls and failed a few physics courses

He's saying the reticule doesn't expand to accurately represent hit registration and there's very little feedback as to where bullets are going.

Exactly.

Yes, it currently does not.

Honestly, I'd just like bullet impacts to be a bit more visible, like 1.6 and CSS. A minor change that would doubtlessly solve a lot of "how did I miss that" problems and make it easier for people to improve without modifying the game balance.

cs was suppose to mimic cross hairs from scopes of actual guns, cross hairs show directly in front but the actual line of travel is different due to the recoil.

if you want a videogame where everything is straight on without any bullet/gun physics, go play call of duty

It is intentional, all CS games behave this way. Shots leave the crosshair and go above it.

In most other modern FPS, shots always center on the crosshair or iron sights, and you simply point them at the target while holding left-click (bringing up CoD right here). In CS you can't do that if you're spraying, you need to pull down and place the crosshair BELOW the point of impact to counteract recoil patterns.

This is one of the reasons why the shooting mechanics in CS have a much steeper learning curve than in typical FPS games, it's harder to adjust your aim when the crosshair can only be used as a point of reference, rather than a direct indicator of where your shots will land.

With 100 hours in CS:S, you never noticed? This is usually one of the first things people notice when they start playing CS, crosshairs at feet but getting headshots etc.

In GO all guns have one recoil pattern each, there is a nice page showing them:

im only low rank in MM because 90% of the games i get in my pings 200-500 never lower then 110 and i still come 5th-1st with aks in the game... if i had a steadly low ping i would be a very high ranked player.

i only spray some times. when prefiring knowing the guy is there and hes just idle it normal bs head shots him and clears the area

i never ever spray i tap shot or burst normal every one i VS sprays. and kills me its very annoying
