bind right/left hand

I want to know how to bind cl_righthand 0/1

I found on a webiste these ones but it doesn't work

alias "left" "cl_righthand 0; bind mouse3 right"
alias "right" "cl_righthand 1; bind mouse3 left"

so please I need help !

Im guessing I did something wrong. When I do what Eku wrote this is what it says in console "bind <key> [command] : attach a command to a key". Any help?

It does work. Make sure you use the quotation marks. EG: bind "ALT" "noclip". This will toggle noclip whenever you press the ALT key. If you write it without the quotation marks it may not work.

Why would you ever want to bind this? Do you switch hands during the game? Though, I shoot left handed in this game. Throw nades sometimes messes me up cuz I'm right handed. But that doesn't mean I'm going to switch it just to throw a nade.

Well, might be useful on certain spots. The viewmodel does nothing but block your view, so it might help sometimes, but I'd get rather irritated by changing left and right, yeah :P

Scream does it like that. He switches on certain spots just to get a better view! It's pretty smart actually

alias "left" "cl_righthand 0; alias toggleside right"
alias "right" "cl_righthand 1; alias toggleside left"
bind "CapsLock" "toggleside"

or this:

bind "CapsLock" "cl_righthand"

It's working 100%.
