E.g:
Battle scared will look damaged. The paint will be worn and it will be scratched.
Factory new will be in perfect condition.
These will never change, if you have a factory new gun it will always be factory new, it won't degrade no matter how much you use it or if you sell it. It's just to add variety I think, obviously the factory new ones will be worth more than the worn ones.
Hope this helps.
Also factory new doesn't guarantee new, it just means it has 90%-100% of no wear, you'd have to inspect the item.
Items can be field tested but look new, it's just some lame ass RNG system they added.
honestly for skins, I'd just wait until new cases come up and continually sell them, then eventually get a key with that money and never spend any of your own. It's basically a money waster and literally pointless so I'd only gamble with stuff you make from selling on the market. And remember the only person making money is valve -- trading off client can obviously get you money, but you'd have to blow money to get money
I never even noticed :P
