I disagree with you.
i barely move my finger around on the trackpad since the sens is so high. with that it allows me to look around more without having to use so much of the trackpad.
it's also really great for smooth aiming and consistancy as i don't need to retrace my finger so much on the pad so i can do ok in CQB scenarios as i only need to move like an inch or few centimeters (i'm still not totally sure about how much as my eyes are glued to the screen because im more concerned about the guy/girl trying to shoot me) to do a 360. really helpful in face-to-face situations.
looking around isn't really a bother either. i barely move my finger and i get minute presision except for non-scope weapons at far range. when i need to, i can look faster and smoother by moving just a bit more which helps in CQB.
next, my controls in this game:
-my left click is the secondary fire button
-my right click is to jump
-my space bar is to fire my weapon.
awkward controls right? but it helps adjust to the trackpad as pressing the trackpad to fire and looking at the same time is uncomfortable.
-one hand i aim with, one hand i shoot, like actually using a real two handed weapon.
-my secondary fire is my left click due to sometimes pressing my macbook trackpad to hard and suddenly jumping midfire (which i had set to before); the accuracy really sucks, i miss aim, and it puts me a BAD position when getting shot at or the awful shooting reveals my position which then i get shot at...
what about aiming down scope mid-fight accidentally since this control is like this? well most of the time im aiming at an enemy so it isn't too bad except for some CQB situations when they're up in your face
-i don't really jump alot in this game so my right click is used for jumping since only the very lower right of the trackpad is reserved for the right click for Macbooks (if you change the setting to press the trackpad for right click)
overall, i'm not trolling about my preferences of gaming tools and experience. even WAY back when i played Diablo 2, my first pc game, with a mouse, i still remember it difficult to play because of the mouse and i thought playing on my dad's laptop was easier.
the macbook doesn't really have good recording tools. it just have quicktime for recording but the camera is located on the screen of my laptop and imovie is frustrating for me. i also don't have any better recording tools since i don't record anything.
In Tennis, almost all of the best players will hold and control their racquet similarly.
In Basketball, the highest percentage shooters all use the same form. In the 80s, when shooting fundamentals were not as well known, percentages were lower across the board. ~36% three point accuracies vs ~44%. Now, all of the best shooters in the NBA use the exact same shooting technique.
In Golf, proper form is essential to hitting the ball accurately with power.
Here is something scientific to consider when looking at mouse grips.
-Palm Grip aiming utilizes the Precentral and Postcentral Gyrus portions of the motor executor of the brain. This portion of the brain is far less precise than motor adjustments performed by the Cerebellum. Oddly enough, Fingertip aiming and Claw grip both utilize the Cerebellum.
When using a grip such as Claw grip, the motion you make is similar to controlling a pen or pencil. Pinching a pen/pencil and writing is far more precise and accurate than "palm gripping" the pen/pencil and trying to write using your entire wrist/elbow.
THE BEST AIMERS IN CS:GO ALL USE CLAW GRIP or a hybrid palm/claw grip so that the mouse is held by a finger pinch. Open your eyes.
