Hacking Through Teamspeak
To say the least, I got hijacked through Teamspeak.

It asked me for an update upon opening (I hadnt used Teamspeak in a while, so I thought I had to update it).

Once it downloaded and ran (with no warning) steam shut off, and lo and behold, emails saying Ive sold things on the market, including some of my more rare CS GO items.

I checked my steam folder, there was a new "Steam.exe" with the teamspeak logo next to it.

Ive submitted a support ticket, and I hope something can be done, but Im not having my hopes up.

I just want all of you to be aware that this happened to me, and if you use teamspeak, be extra careful it doesnt happen to you. Set your inventory to private or something so people dont see if you have expensive things.

Take care. Please. I watched ~$200 of stuff go down the drain and I dont want it to happen to anyone else, its a horrible feeling. I know I was a fool for not downloading updates straight from the Teamspeak site, but thats how they get you.

Stay safe.

This has been around for a while. You will probably get your stuff back, assuming its your first time being hacked, but just be more cautious next time. There is new ways to hack every weak make sure you are being cognisant of the things you download and the stuff you run.
I do have the receipts for the purchases the ******* made on my account, I dont know if those matter to steam support. Ive changed my passwords for everything I can think of, but I dont know what else I can do but wait for now and warn others.

Just make sure you have screenshots of the trade(s) in question with your account name visible. Give them all they info you think is important and you should be good.

wait so the teamspeak client had you download an update that hijacked your account?

I'm assuming it wasn't an official teamspeak client?

certain servers can prompt you to download an "audio update" which is really a virus.

hey :) i wanted to ask if you got any reply from steam support? ive sent ticket over 2 weeks ago (i got hacked too), but i noticed that my screenshots didnt have my name, so I added reply with new screenshots today. Im not sure how long i should wait and if others have to wait so long too. thanks for reply :)

Make sure you run a good antivirus aswell to remove any traces of the virus as if it's still around you could lose your stuff if you do get it back.
I havent Tomasz. I submitted my ticket on August 12th. Granted my initial two comments were poorly written because I was panicking, but since then Ive added several comments providing all the information that I can. It's now September 7th and no response. My friends say give it 3-6 weeks, but Im beginning to give up hope. I dont see how they could possibly find my case after 3 weeks if so many people submit new tickets every day.

Im not sure what other information I can provide but I hope I get SOME sort of response from them. Everyone who gets their ♥♥♥♥ hacked wants it back, don't they?

Thanks for reply :) Ive sent ticketon August 17th and I think that response is delayed due to massive amount of people hacked. I also re-added screenshots, more informations and version in Polish (my 1st was in English), but those always show as only 1 question (with added replies) even when I created new question. Anyway, I hope that they are checking old cases and they will find us soon.
My friend got hacked like 3 times and steam support replied after 2 weeks (in each case), but it wasnt at time when they found "new" way (TeamSpeak) to hack accounts, so lets give them some time, they have to read load of questions written in panick (like ours) :D
I wish you luck and getting all items back.
Let me know when they will reply to you, itll means that they should reply to me soon. Cheers! :tdealwithit:
Ah hell man, that sucks.

Yeah if you try to send in more tickets they will likely merge them together to avoid overflowing the system even more, though why they dont respond after is beyond me.

Pretty much all of us want our ♥♥♥♥ back. Can only hope that they look into our cases, which might be low chanced considering how old they are. Then again Steam is known for slow response times...
