People can't hear me in game yet it says I'm talking.

I've been playing CS:GO for a long time, i used to solo que all the time now I don't like doing so as people can never hear my call outs and it is a nightmare. I've tried everything under the sun, mic settings in windows, in steam, and in CS, I've used the console when trying "voice_enable 1" or whatever it is and it still doesn't work. I've also re installed steam and CS multiple times with no success.

However my problem is more unique than those ive read upon, in the corner when i use my push to talk it says im talking, however where the speaker is with the brackets ")))" that's get bigger and smaller when people talk, yano? well they just stay constant, hopefully this makes what i'm saying more clear ---

Here is mine (W) and another CS user (D), his ")))" changes whereas mine doesn't.

a mate of mine had a similar problem, trying switching microphones, i would be on teamspeak with a mate, mic works and all, but ingame his mic won't register his voice because of the low sound register, try placing the mic closer to your mouth or speak a bit louder

ive tried switching but it doesnt help, ive also thought that was the problem and shouted full volume, but nothing.

It's has to be your mic. It's most likely that there is something wrong with it. If everything is fine you could always re download cs:go

im having the exact same problem except for that steam cant here me and i was playing CS say 3 games ago and it worked fine then half way through the match it stoped working

this game is good put so many problems i cant here gun shots or awp shots but i can here it hitting me its hard to play this i have the same issue mic not working works fyn on discord

Some programs like the NVIDIA overlay thing can stop your mic in some games. Dunno check your mic settings in Steam.

I know this is old - but I had the exact same problem. My Mic works perfectly on discord and every other game etc, but thats because those games I had the mic I use set as my default device. You need to set the mic use as your default device in windows.

Right click the sound icon in the tray - Sounds - Recording - then select the device, right click and say set as default.
