Is MarkC Acceleration fix legit?
Want to use it, worried that it'll break something. Is it legit?

Well, don't believe first answers always... I don't know is it legit, but you should be careful with it. And answers may be trolls... just be adviced.

im guessing it just disables windows native mouse accel like CPLfix did back in the day, if its just a regedit file then its fine.

just make sure theres also a .reg file to turn it back to normal, incase you dont like it.

Why do you need it is the better question.

because it disables all mouse accel from windows? it's not just for CSGO, it'll work for other games too. CSGO's settings that are supposed to disable it probably leave some sort of accel on, I wouldn't know because personally it doesn't bother me (shouldn't even notice small accel on a decent mouse).

Nope the newer games work just fine. This fix is mostly for older games that do not have Mouse acceleration configurations in the settings to turn it off. If you are wanting to use it for this game you don't have too.

Once again the question remains why do you need it?

In Windows I have slow mouse with max dpi. (Logitech MX518)
In CS:GO I have no acceleration and 2.5 mouse speed. Pretty good setup for me...

where did OP state he wants to use it solely for CSGO?

anyway, smartasses aside - registry files are perfectly fine OP. as far as "breaking" anything, make sure theres an "off" registry file so you don't have to manually go into regedit and turn it all off.

Dont worry dude, these mouse fixes are legit.
They have been around for over 5 years now.

Wanted to use it primary for csgo/css. Possibly 1.6 if i feel like picking it up again.

I assume it doesn't work with csgo for some reason?

you don't really need it for CSGO, since it has built in options for "fully" disabling windows mouse acceleration. if you already turned it off in options you shouldn't notice a difference at all.

for CSS/1.6 it's needed though, yeah.

personally I would recommend using CPLMousefix but thats just because im more familiar with it (haven't used it since CSS roughly 5-8 years ago, but still).

all you smartasses saying you dont need it for CS:GO - I have 900 hours in the game and only just now by getting MarkC mouse fix i realised i was playing with awful acceleration that was messing my aim the whole time. The first match after the mouse fix was just godly. Its legit 10/10 pls go for it if youre serious wth FPS games

you don't need this anymore
