sv_voiceenable 1 doesn't work

so i disabled voiceenable 1 to stop the spam in a casual match, and i closed csgo with those settings and now it wont change... i keep doing the command in the console but it just wont work, i can't play comp like this, please help.

Your config.cfg file is currently set to 'read only'. Turn off read only on that file, find voiceenable and change the 0 to 1, then save and re-check 'read only'. The game will now remember your selection :)

Go here:

"<Steam Install Location>\Steam\steamapps\common\Counter-Strike Global Offensive\csgo\cfg".

Right click the config.cfg file and go to properties, and make sure that 'read only' is NOT checked. Apply those settings.
Then search the file (ctrf+f) for 'sv_voiceenable', and change the '0' to a '1'. Save the file.
Right click the file and go to properties again, then re-check 'read only'.

This should do the trick.

it doesn't allow me to untick the ''read'' and ''read and run'' in fact it doesn't allow me to untick anything in the safety genre

It's not "sv_voiceenable 1". It's just "voice_enable 1"

SV means server and you can't modify the server.

voice_enable 1 will switch voice ON
voice_enable 0 will switch voice OFF

YOu are typing the command wrong. Do voice_enable not voiceenable
