Best size monitor
What would you say is the optimal sized monitor for counterstrike? Is 27 inches too big ? 🤔

The wider, the more FoV. The narrower, the bigger the enemy. Pick your favorite.

I think 24-27 is the sweet spot

Depends on the distance you are from monitor.
Only you yourself can answer

I'd say 27" is the sweet spot. Not too big, not too small. However you shouldn't be buying monitor just for one game. What I've seen your new rig will be a beast of a computer and you might end up using it for other activities as well. Just something to keep in mind! There are excellent choices for monitors these days. When I built my new setup earlier this year I ended up buying 27 inch, 1mS, 170 hz IPS panel. It had the best of both worlds. It suits pretty well for gaming but it's great for other activites too, like video editing and stuff. I'm not a fan of TN/VA panels because they tend to have "washed out" colors.

Been looking at this budget monitor ,says it’s 4k and 120hz 🤔

24/25" all the way. I've switched back from a 27" one to 25" because it's just better at normal viewing distance.
27" is nice if you play RPGs, games like Starfield etc but for intense shooters 25" is superior.

What 25 inch 140hz 4k monitors do you recommend then?

If you want to play CS as good as possible I would seriously suggest looking into a 25" 1080p 240hz monitor.
They're extremely cheap nowadays (start at €160 here) and will boost your gameplay experience a lot.

It looks pretty good, but you may want to browse if you can get one with even higher refresh rate for fast paced shooters like CS.

In my opinion 27-28 inches are suitable for 1440p and bigger screens for 4K. Running 4K resolution on a "27 screen makes desktop use kinda hard because text/icons/everything is so tiny it's literally hard to see from normal viewing distances. But this up to you. I would go for 27 inches and 1440p but this is just my preference.

A 17" 4:3 crt screen. No more blackbars or whatever, yeah.

:steamhappy:  Just 10 years ago I still had my trusty old 19" CRT. I hopped on the 1080p flat screen-train quite late because basically 0 mS latency and 120 hz @ 1024x768 in CS.

I miss CRT's color reproduction. Black was black and white was white.
However I don't miss the bulkiness and weight of CRT monitors. My friend had 21" CRT. Good times.

I would only use the 4k for certain games I wouldn’t set my desktop resolution to it.
