How does armor work?

Can anyone explain how the armor works? does it reduce damage or just protect you from grenades?

The armor reduces damage, it doesn't protect you.
Also legs aren't protected.

depends on armor penetration of weapons, p2000/glock do only 45% of the total dmg when you have armor. Rifles have a much higher armor penetration. Armor also protects you from a punchback (prevents that your screen shakes when hit).

never realized that, so different weapons have diferent penetration levels that affects how the armor works? so for example an AWP have the highest penetration round right? so armor doesnt stand a chance agains awp?

nope AWP is insta body/head kill. But regardless you should always prioritize armor above a gun when you have the money
