Going afk the whole time during twitch stream?

Lol, won't do you any good after all the matches are over. During the matches will only will allow drops not after.

you can only get drops during the live ggames so no reruns wont get you drops
yes you ca leave it afk
even in back ground while you watch in game

you have to link your twitch to your steam
but it will go in your inv and when you get in game it will say new item

twitch toggles abscence, if you arent active. I don't know to what extent it affects your dropchance, but you could always get an automatic site refresher (browser addon) for you to go afk.

I don't understand the question. There is no way to be "active" or "inactive" in a browser session. You log into Twitch (with a linked account) and let it run for as long as you like. Of course, once the stream goes offline for the day, you need to reconnect the next day.
