800 DPI vs 1600 DPI
Hey guys,im playing cs on 1920x1080 and Im using Deathadder 3.5G mouse(the original DA) with 1600DPI and 1.5 sens in game,6/11 windows,1000 Polling rate, but I noticed that alot ppl play with 800 DPI,but I also read on the internet that i should stick with my mouse native DPI which in this case is 1800,so what setting I should use to improve my aim in long distances and so on? Please respond :Unic:

Most people would choose 800 just for consistency, although some other people are comfortable with a high mouse pointer setting. Like f0rest. Just a preference.

It doesn't matter.

There's no specific setting to really improve your aim it's all personal preferance. Choose a DPI setting you're comfortable with and work from there. But as far as I know most professional players these days use 400-800 DPI so around there should be fine. I use 450 DPI at 1.9-2.9 Sensitivity.
Hope I helped you out!

I use the same mouse as you and play 800 dpi and 1.35 sens in game

Lower sensitivity is generally considered better for consistent accuracy. I would definitely drop it to 800 or alternatively drop the in game sens to 0.5.

I use 400 DPI / 2.2 in game sens.

A slight correction; some poeple think you should stick to the native dpi of the sensor within the mouse and not the mouse itself. You'll have to find out which sensor is in your mouse and then search the internet for its specs.

Some poeple prefer lower sensitivity because it makes aiming over long distances easier.

E.g.

your sensitivity: ((1600*1.5)/1080)*10 = 22.22~
My sensivitiy: ((400*1.5)/768)*10 = 7.81~

Experiment to see what works for you.

But why you are using 800Dpi instead of 1600 and what polling rate? Also is ur resolution 1920x1080?

Both will be just as accurate with modern sensors.

When sensors were worse in the early days, there would be interpolation, jitters, acceleration, etc, etc, if you used a much higher/lower dpi value than native.
This has no impact whatsoever in the sensors we have nowdays, so use whatever dpi value you want and adjust the ingame sensitivity accordingly.

TL;DR: Using 800 dpi / 2 sens won't magically make you more accurate compared to 1600 dpi / 1 sens.

In my opinion this is not true. Lower dpi with sensitivity does help many with aim. A lot of pro and higher rank players use 400-800 and 2-3 sensitivity. I use 400 dpi and 2.52.

It helps to be able to aim and stay on target better. Slow to turn but most of the time you are pre aiming common spots.

A good rule of thumb. Multiply your dpi and ingame sensitivity and be between 800-1600.

Also you should be able to go around a corner and be able to maintain crosshair at the corner as you come around.
