paid cheat - depends on the devs
free cheat - high chance that vac will ban
Yeah I think it depends on people. I am more competitive, so it is boring for my to see through walls. And getting 40 k/d.
For example, if you go buy the cheats - you motivate cheatmakers and keep them alive with money.
Besides, cheat communities are generally pretty set-up to keep 'the unknown' out, and will also take other measures. Like.. continuously updating their cheats - especially if they got caught. It becomes a cat and mouse then.
That's why there is things like VACnet, that don't focus on the specific cheat/code, but on the cheat itself. That doesn't change. You can always see when someone is cheating.
PS VAC bans are delayed to avoid giving too much information, if you cheated recently you will almost certainly be banned at some point in the future. My guess would be within the next month - but that's assuming you speak the truth. I know a lot of cheaters that advertise undetectable cheats, by playing on servers with VAC disabled.. Where there's money to be made, people will lie.
Cheating gets very boring. It poses no challenge, thus his explanation is not wrong.
