Mostly, with friends you start to enjoy the game, even when you lose. BUt if you want to play more serious, I would suggest you to play on Faceit. However on Faceit, the same situation could happen. Thats why it is so hard to level up.
I do have faceit, but the process of playing that and getting a random map pick isn't really that enticing. I'd rather pick my maps and do normal matchmaking, even if it is on only 64 tick.
Let me just say, this isn't how this new system is going to work.
This new system is going to do nothing except incentivize griefers, who no longer have the threat of being kicked to worry about (since kicking is basically worse than just letting griefers absorb bullets).
Twice now, I've had people on my team leave the game because they wanted our team to lose the round, and the reconnection system coupled with the lack of bots meant that they were able to bail for 3 rounds doing so without punishment.
Finally, I'm not about to go make friends with the CSGO competitive community because they are, for the most part, either toxic or don't play seriously. The friends who I do enjoy playing competitive games with see CSGO as a complete joke and honestly I'm starting to agree with them.
Bots were cool in 1.6 when you could give orders to them to do many different things. Bots in CSGO are just potatoes that gives money to the enemy team. I won't miss them. The noob cheaters also cannot grab the bots anymore after they pathetically dies. I once saw a team of just 2 people and 3 bots win a game because one of them were cheating and he keep taking the bots. We were winning and guy pretty much turned the game all by himself with that.
I appreciate your insight here as I definitely see your point. The thing is, I haven't had any issues at all with this huge change and is the norm in other tactical shooters. From Siege, VALORANT, Call of Duty, etc., none of them have bots if someone leaves your game for whatever reason. I think this was more of Valve following suit to what other games are doing because it's 100% an advantage to teams if they're able to have an extra life in a round because they have the ability to control a bot if they die. All they have to do is rush a site to get information, die, and then can head right back as a bot with information he's not supposed to know (enemy positions, hiding spots, etc.).
I've met nothing but fun, friendly, and positive people when I soloQ and have been growing my Friend's List for a while now. I tend to usually either soloQ or grab a friend or two around my ranking and haven't had any issues at all with people leaving matches or anything. I just think people have to look at it in the long-term and realize, it will make people want to work together and play with friends. I know over time, eventually, I'll have a 4 or 5-stack to queue with since I'll find people just like me.
CS:GO is not for everyone and if you feel that way, it might be best to move on and go play something else. I took many breaks from this game in the past, including over an entire year since I could not win a Competitive match for a damn thing. I came back since I love this game and am enjoying the direction it's going in, especially since I watch CS:GO Esports religiously, it just makes sense for me. It's not the only game I play (I have a weekly rotation of CS:GO, Halo: MCC, Apex Legends, and starting tonight, Disco Elysium) so with me keeping it like that, I don't get too burned out with CS:GO.
