Please how do get battle scars on your weapon skin

Do you have to buy it a certain amount of times, kill people with it a certain amount of times or is it just have it equipped for a certain time. I can't find this anywhere

Weapon skin doesnt change over time.
The only way to modify their look is to apply stickers.

Skins get a random float value ranging from 0-1* when they're dropped, and they can be:
Factory New (best quality/lowest float)->Minimal Wear->Field Tested->Well Worn->Battle Scared (worst quality/highest float)
This float float never changes and the only way to get a better/worse quality skin is to buy one with the desired value. If you want more battle scars, sell your high quality skin and buy a lower quality, it will be cheaper.

*Some skins have a minimum/maximum float value, restricting their available qualities.

what is float and if you buy a weapon, is it random for it to have battle scars?

if you open a weapon case, the float of the given skin is random. the wear doesn't change anymore after that.
if you want a battle scared skin, you'll have to buy it from market.

idk that's kinda stupid, cuz some weapons cost less if they're battle scarred, but if you buy it new, shouldn't it be factory new?

battle scarred weapons cost less because they are less rare to get

When a skin is dropped it get a random condition (fn,mw,ft,ww,bs) those condition won't never chenge but they define how the weaon looks

it's all about how the skin looks, fn is less scratched than mw, mw less than field tested, field tested than well worm, and well worm less than battle scarred, the reason of why worse wears could be mores expensive is due to it looks special for example bs awp asiimov (blacksiimov) actually is worth more than other better looking wears, or due to rarity for example doppler knifes which are so rares on mw so it costs more that fn ones, here's an example of differences beetwen wears https://youtu.be/lp7lKrcyvs8
