Counter-Strike 2

So why are CS:GO prize pools still smaller than DOTA2?
I was just wondering, why is valve investing so much money in DOTA. We have few majors/a year with 250k $ including IEM Katowice which is considered the biggest CS:GO event with also only 250k dollars while DOTA comes out with another millions of dollars in internationals. For those who don't know it was 18.5$ million this year, YES - 18500000 DOLLARS for Dota "World Championships". And DOTA community isn't really that much bigger anymore.

I just cant understand why. As for today Counter Strike has more viewers on streams thus it is more entertaining to watch (in fact it now has probably even more viewers than LoL so its the most viewed game in the world)."World Championships" - a badass tournament where the best of the best fight for "the best" reward, the idea of it is of course to entertain people. People wait for this tournament and watch it because there is the biggest competition and emotions are HUGE. Its obvious that big prize pool attracts viewers but when CS has more viewers with A LOT smaller prize pools then its obviously better choice to invest such money. Imagine a 10 million dollars on Katowice next year, im sure there'd be over 1 million viewers on Twitch channel itself.
Not sure tho but i think they even got more income from CS than DOTA, because ask yourself, is there any other game where there is such big hype for all the cosmetic stuff like skins etc? Also its worth to mention that CS is not a Free to Play game like Dota, you have to pay those 11$ to be able to even play a game.

The other thing i wanted to mention is the lack of professionalism in big tournaments their development and organization.
Like for example, yesterday I watched some PRO team's PoV matches from bigger tournaments, I wanted to hear their calls and voice communication etc. Guess what. I thought i'd cry. What kind of conditions they have? The crowd shouts out so loud that they can barely communicate between themselves, and every time they want to say something i.e give info etc. they must do it quickly or crowd will drown out their sound. At that time I asked myself "Do they even hear footsteps in game?". Like seriously cant you make some kind of rooms of soundproof glass or something like that, you can see such in StarCraft II majors or Dota internationals. Does it really cost you that much? It would be really a big quality of life improvement for pro players. I feel really sorry for them that they must live from job with such ♥♥♥♥ conditions like you offer them.

Its not like Im a valve hater and I don't know why, but it seems to me that this whole CS:GO idea was about only to make money and KEEP DOTA2 ALIVE. Because lets be honest - Dota pro's are basically paid from CS players and the international is all that keeps this game alive. Simple - they let players pay for prizepool thus they have to forget some of the money they could take for themselves so they have to get it back in some way or another to align overall profit, so they give CS smaller prize pools. Interesting theory isn't it?
Im tired of this, Counter Strike has possibility to dominate Esport scene around the whole world but it seems like Valve itself is the only thing that keeps it not happening.

Sorry for any grammar mistakes etc. As you'd guess English is not my national language.

Well, most of the money cs go pros get is from selling stickers. they make ALOT of money off that and i dont think they need more from prize pools.
The tier 1 teams are already making > 500k a year, and that number is increasing alot.
I dont think they need more money but more is better (most of the time) in sports/esports.
CSGO is more like fantasy football, where as DOTA is like the real deal.
Well, Dota 2 TI sponsored by crowd funding, while cs never had this option. Its a different business model. Stickers, yes. But its not a prize pool.
Well, one of the most popular maps in CS:GO is about Israel Defense Forces soldiers murdering Palestinian fighters, who fight for their freedom and the freedom of their people, because they don't have any other option left. There are certain factions exercising influence (can't say because I would get banned) over the United States of America, that don't want such depiction of reality to be widespread; their interests are to depict Palestinian fighters as deranged terrorists that pose a danger to innocent people and use newborn babies as human shields, and thus, those factions use their influence to make sure that ideas like this don't become available to the general public.

CS:GO will never get enough attention because the scenario it presents doesn't fit the narrative, and it doesn't help push the agenda of that one faction; the very same faction that controls the news in the United States of America , the international news, and the banks in every country of the world. Coincidence? I don't know, you tell me. So basically, the answer to your question is politics; CS:GO will never get the same attention because of political reasons. Now be a good goy and stop asking questions, because asking questions is forbidden, and people who ask too many questions often end up being murdered under mysterious circumstances.

Call of duty is still the top played fps and it extremely politically incorrect but it still has a massive amount of funding on the esports side
