Agreed.
I open cases from time to time when I have some spare money to waste, then when I have enough skins that I don't like (and aren't worth much, most of the time) I toss them into a tradeup contract for further gambling fun.
Really if you're interested in trying to make a profit then IMO the best bet is to save a bit of money (again that you don't mind wasting entirely) and wait for a new operation, get it day 1 and play it as much as you can, open any new cases that drop. The prices can be really high for very basic items in the early day or two, got lucky with a stat FN Basilisk when they were pretty new, sold for about £33 or something? That's now listing at £9-10.
The safer version of that is get the operation day 1 and play as much as you can then sell the cases, they usually go for £2-3 early, so you can make back the operation cost easily.
And yeah, I Think I should open some when I have spare Money just for fun, my friend at school won a karambit Worth $350 from a chroma 2, so I was wondering if it was actually Worth it.
Also, can I ask if you can take out Money from steam? Someone said you can go to gamestop and login there and then they give you the Money somehow, idk tho
