Games Too Bright / Bright Spots on certain Maps
I think I've found another of CS2's Hardware Based "Pay2Win" Parts.

In General, I think we can agree that the game is too bright, at least in certain Spots (Top Mid Mirage for example).

If I use a Crosshair without an Outline, I can barely make it out against a few of the really bright Parts of Certain Maps (whether it be skyboxes, Dust 2, Mirage, etc.) - using an Outline though can really hurt your accuracy (at least that's how it is in my case).

The r_fullscreen_gamma command does not affect the Lighting on the Maps itself, so that's where the problem lies. I wasn't able to find a command that allows you to dim these really glowy parts of the Maps in order to compensate for it.

Adjusting my nvidia Settings isn't helping either - so I made a couple of Screenshots on different Gamma Levels, which led me to understand that a lot of the colours in CS2 are not accurately displayed - instead of a pure green (0,255,0) I get a Green with a tint (54,255,56).

Funnily enough though, a friend of mine who has a ZOWIE Monitor (one the Pro Models) has no issues at all with this.

Conclusion:
In order to see your crosshair properly in CS2 on all surfaces without using an Outline and still make it pop, you need to buy a Professional FPS Monitor.

I tried every trick in the book that I could find about this topic, nothing has worked. Besides CS2, I do not run into any issues like this whatsoever. And it's really starting to piss me off - I like the game.
But I really don't like that you get an advantage like that if you own a certain kind of monitor (got a 240Hz OMEN HP X27, which I only got for this game).

And from what I've read, I'm not the only person with this kind of an issue.
Looking forward to all the plebs suggesting I should just play with a dot, duh.

I did all of that - and I did it all for months. Otherwise, I wouldn't have stated what I have stated.

Here's a list of Settings I tried to tweak (I did several runs of this over the past year):
- In-Game Brightness / r_fullscreen_gamma (does the same thing)
- Changing every Light Related Graphics Setting to every available alternative (HDR, Shaders, Shadows, Ambient Occlusion)
- Monitor Brightness, Gamma, Coloring (individual RGB values), HDR Mode on / off
- nvidia Color accuracy mode (reference mode on / off)
- nvidia Brightness, Contrast, Digital Vibrance
- recalibration of my monitor, etc.

Counter Strike 2 is, when it comes to visibility of models superior to CS:GO, obviously. It just appears that the brightest spots make it hard to see a bright color put above it - like the standard crosshair colors besides blue, which is then pretty hard to see on Midtones or Darker Spots.

And, again, I don't seem to be the only one with this kind of an issue. Of course you have a lot of people online complaining about the game being too bright etc. but in a few discussions they also talked about how tough it is to see your crosshair against the brightest spots of maps (it just blends in with the backgrounds, probably because they are on a similar brightness level).

So, no. It has nothing to do with my settings, unfortunately.
Nice, thank you for the quick response. I also created a Steam Support Ticket regarding this issue, kinda ruins the game for me unfortunately.
