do you guys think vac bans are too harsh

As much as I hate cheaters, I think they should not be permanently banned for one foul play. I mean, cheating is bad, don't get me wrong, but to be indefinetly banned is way too harsh in my perspective. I know you guys may think that people would abuse this, but make the bans long enough and they might not. if it is abused, with the long bans, then Valve could just revert to the preexcisting indefinite vac an. But some hackers (mostly kids) don't read the rules and don't take things into consideration, like the fact that one cheat will indefinitly ban them. just put yourself into their shoes. They hack one time, not knowing of the vac ban system. Their banned forever, to a game they probably just got. I mean, just imagine never playing csgo again. terrible, right? So here is my proposal; 1st hack, 1 1/2 month ban. second hack 6 month ban. final hack, indefinite. or 6th month first hack 1 year second hac then burn their profile also emphasize that they will be indefinitly banned. alternate proposal by Marin Skreli

I agree, but make it more strict. You get VAC banned first time, 6 months. Then a year. And then permanent. 1 month and a half won't do much, and they can easily make a new steam account.
