[short term fix !!!] CS2 crashes after finding a lobby/game

[short term fix for now...
- go to steam library, select counter strike 2 go to properties, click installed files and click browse.
windows opens the Counter strike folder ..
go to game>bin>win64 there you right click cs2 > properties then a window opens click compatibility and the first one you see is, run this program in compatibility mode for : windows 8. when done apply the settings and click ok]


after it finds a game/lobby it loads the game files from 30 to 50 % and then crashes no pop ups nothing it just returns to my desktop
we already checked the game files and those are fine
windows is updated and gpu drivers to and cleared cache

after enabling run as admin it shows: Some of the game files have no or invalid signature you can't access vac servers

AFTER reinstalling still got the problem: Some of the game files have no or invalid signature you can't access vac servers


some friends also got the same problem

my specs:
intel 8700k
nvidia 2070
32 gb ram
win 10 64 bit

Friend 1 spec:
intel 12700k
nvidia 3060
32 gb ram
win 11 64 bit

friend 2 spec:
intel 14700f
nvidia 4070
32 gb ram
win 11 64 bit

I encountered the exact issue, tried everything mentioned here and on videos but cannot fix it.

1. Verify the game files.
2. Close Steam.
3. Open Steam again.
4. Run the game.

Work for me.

Had the exact thing happen to me! Had to update my GPU drivers and it went right back in!

It works for me for about halfway through one match and then I get kicked again...

start a practice match first then join any gamemode, only fix i found

Hope someone sees this.

A reliable way to fix the crashing is to alt + tab out of the game while you're matchmaking. Alt + tab back in when it's loaded and you're on the pick team screen. I hover over the CS2 icon on my taskbar to see what it's ready.

Since I started doing this the game hasn't crashed once. Hope this helps.

Found a fix. Locate your CS2.exe, and select "Compatiblilty mode for Windows 8" in properties. It shouldn't crash again.

I have the same problem if i want to play online but if i first go in practice or workshop map play for 5 minutes and then exit to main menu and try to play online it works.

same can only play premiere but cannot play casual, deathmatch or arms race

thanks it is indeed a short term fix but they still need to do something about it not everyone is that handy with pc's
