Huge packet loss after armory update
I've never had issues with packet loss on CS2 till this armory update.
Right now every match I get around 50-60% packet loss.
I tried some adjustments to buffering tick but none was able to solve the problem so far.

I tested my cable connection with other games and clients, the problem is just with CS2. Right now it's just unplayable and Valve is too busy with skins to solve the network problem.

If someone found a workaround please let me know.
Thanks

I was mostly able to fix my issue in casual but competitive is bad, real bad. (by limiting my bandwith using waveforms test and taking the websites advice about the subject)

the packets are to damn big valve

Not all of us have 200$ fiberbit connections or 500$ gaming routers to prevent bufferbloat for large ass data packets.

What exactly are you guys transmitting anyway?!

That's kind of what I'm thinking....packets are too big. Wouldn't this be an issue with subtick not being optimized? Something with subtick and the netcode is not right because I can generate plenty of frames, its just the server taking forever to give me specific frames

people wont say it but maybe the grenade farming spam puts a heavy load on servers

Maybe that part of "earning points" was valve testing to see what causes the most packet loss or latency issues

worst update since... cs2 I guess...

How do they manage to break this game more? I don't get it!!!
Game is crashing while map loading or just freezing and I have to sign out of my windows account to close the game, because its not reacting. It crashed / freezed 5 times in a row when I started playing today. After that 45 minutes of frustration it was at least not crashing / freezing anymore for some hours. I was able to play at the end for couple hours.

But I got packet loss every match... most of the time it is showing me red packet loss message at the top right corner of the screen.

Since the "Update" (better said: downdate) I have 60 fps less now playing with 60 to 80 fps ... well done valve *slow clap*

How can they have such a wonderful and great game and then turn it into trash like that? I don't understand :((( ....if you guys understand whats going on then please explain it to me, because I don't :(((

Firstly, make sure all drivers and whatnot are up to date

Run -dx11 in launch options if using nvidia, use -vulkan if on amd

Don't use anything besides anti-lag if on amd

Make sure pc power plan is max performance

Clear your temp files and shader cache. %temp% searching windows, clear all of that, and clearing dx shader cache is kind of useful if not using vulkan

Do a speed test of your internet

If you don't have a gazillion Mbps upload (most dont), and it's about 20, use maybe 1/5th that value for total bandwidth. Unlimited causes problems

Set to 2 packets buffer

Make sure fps_max is set to 0 in game but have it render about 10 frames above your most stable minimum frame

That should fix most issues. I had to go through a ton of hoops to figure out how to make it run more optimized. It's the game, don't worry, not your pc. I think 5v5's that are on faceit won't lag but that's after you get those settings dialed in

Methinks it's in the game now to help valve do optimization soon

It's Valve's own problem, none of this will solve it
Sure, setting packet buffering will solve the rubberbanding but the latency just makes the game unplayable.

Same here. Played fine for one day after the update. Tonight I get on and the game is unplayable. It's also crashing when I try to load. Something is not right.
