Hehe some players I had played with their lantency and mine may raise over time from Casual to Competitive mode
From what I've read you're pretty much right, the packet loss has been there the entire time but now it's actually being calculated and visualized in net graph. Still though I have been getting 220 out of nowhere a lot more frequently than I ever did before the update and my ping has been going non stop up and down, maybe that's part of the new measurements too idk. I feel like my connection is a lot sloppier now though when I play, maybe it's placebo.
I think vac 3.0 involves using more game data like reaction times, angles, ticks, yada yada. I have no problem with download, its only the upload i keep getting massive choke on.
Using waveforms buffer packet test thing, I do have some kinda jitter, but its not bad enough it would normally interfere with a game as simple as counter strike. Compared to a game like bf2042 with 50-100 players. But it did allow me enough data so I could tweak my connection so that these large ass data packets that the server is sending to me, and im sending to the server dont lagg my connection out.
I and others, started experiencing this around the time they deployed the limited vac 3.0. It could just be coincidence. I think now its just on by default for everyone, not just people being reported for cheating.
I got a feeling it may be connected. Now why would I think that?
I was able to fix the issue like 90% by limiting my bandwith. Its fine now in the casual servers when its 10v10 but I get this initial choke at the end and start of every round. Which I suspect might be when the game trys to upload the biggest packets.
My experience in competitive is pretty different. I get way more packet loss at random intervals. On top of that if I pull off a crazy shot, I will start to lag out mid round.
I think its because these data packets are to huge and they work fine on valve and their employees 200$ fiber internet and 500$ gaming routers but not so much on the average persons hardware.
I could be wrong, I often am.
If im right, then its very likely they know exactly who is cheating and who is not.
So it's doing wonders as an anticheat by doing the opposite.
I've loaded up a couple other FPS games and I don't have any issues.
