Your friends are not wrong. The OPERATIONS in the past few years, was worth it. Because it was LIMITED.
You buy an Operation Pass > Do the missions > Collect Points > Trade for items.
Once you hit the limit, thats it. So you have to spend your points WISELY.
NOT in this case. As I said, this Armory Pass bs, its unlimited. Big spenders will FLOOD the market with their unwanted junk and destroy the prices very fast.
This is NOT an Operation (with missions and game modes) Pass. This is a GIVE-VALVE-YOUR-MONEY Pass.
Do not buy the Deagle unless you think you are gonna win the lottery. Its 25 Stars for 1 shot at a Case Hardened DE skin. Which is ugly and worthless... unless you hit that 1 in a BILLION chance of getting a rare 'defect' in the skin and it comes out as what we call, The Blue Gem.
Then you struck gold. You probably have better chance at getting a Knife/Covert Gun than a Blue Gem.
Cases are gonna drop price really fast from the moment it goes live.
Imagine the hundreds of thousands of people waiting sell there 1-50 cases also.
Might start off at USD5 per case or higher. But will drop REAL fast due to over supply.
And sadly, there is NO END and NO LIMIT to the supply. Just buy a pass and sell more. So it will KEEP DROPPING in price until its practically worthless.
What to buy then? Now knowing its an UNLIMITED pass, best is save your money. I'm PISSED off I bought the passes now. But I cant refund.
If this was LIMITED, Gallery case to keep for a few years until supply is LOW or stickers and charms.
If you really wanna buy and try your luck, then I wish you good luck, sir.
You and me both sir. I got greedy and bought 5 one shot. If I knew beforehand it was unlimited, I wouldnt spend a single cent.
If you bought the cases, I recommend you stay online minutes before the item/trade lock is about to finish, then quickly put em up for sale. It usually starts high and drops really fast in a few hours. You might get lucky a little.
If majority of people who bought the pass did the same and did not rebuy, the collections would be actually not oversupplied. It depends if people decide to rather go out, work, have hobbies outside computer and such. But if most decide to continue gambling and grinding, then yeah, it will crash hard like anubis did. Because don't expect new content anytime soon.
They will open this collection in droves as long as they play the game, because content drought, boredom, and only 1/700something chance to open covert. If people keep playing this neglected game and give cash to valve for doing ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, the prices will eventually fall.

Lets say there is 100,000 CS2 active players.
50% buy passes = 50,000 players
Another 50% of that (25,000 players) thinks the Limited Edition Deagle is good and tries their luck. That is 25,000 Deagles bought.
Out of 25,000 Deagles, 1% gets the Blue Gem colored one (no way the % is this high lol). That's 250 Blue Gem Deagles. The other 24,750 Deagles, Battle Scarred, Well Worn, Minimal Wear, etc is on the market for sale. Maybe some will keep. So lets say HALF is sold....that's 12,000+ on the market for sale.
How much do you think the value will be with so many on the market? Battle Scarred maybe USD1-3? Could be higher. But whatever it is, it wont be enough to cover your Armory Pass cost unless you hit jackpot. And don't forget, those that really want the Blue Gem may keep buying passes to try their luck. So more may flood the market until the prices drown. You can Google 'AK-47 Case Hardened Blue Gem'. That's what the Deagle will look like. A blue glow gun. It's very very rare and worth a lot. One of that can buy you A TON of Factory Knew Tiger Tooth knives. Last I remember, the best looking Blue Gem AK was sold around USD800,000. Yes, eight HUNDRED THOUSAND. Google it.
And, 1 pass = 40 stars. You can only buy ONE deagle. I have 5 passes. That's 200 Stars. I bought 1, got a Field Tested Deagle and it looks horrible. Like a rusted gun someone threw into the river. It's just for collection now. So ask yourself my friend.... ARE YOU FEELING LUCKY? Hahahahaha. I think I have better luck with a lottery ticket.
The moment I found out the passes are UNLIMITED, I know already, all I have spent is a LOSS. Unless I get a few rare charms/stickers/skin. Then MAYBE I can get back my USD60.
If you want to cut your losses, spend it on stickers/charms. Cheapest, only 1-3 stars so you got more chances to pull a good one. If you want to try your luck to cover ALL your losses, then try for the Skins and pray you get maybe AK47 The Outsiders or AWP CYMK or something like that.
Good luck to you sir. I wish you all the best. I, myself still have leftover 100 stars I have not used yet. Waiting for when I feel lucky. Maybe one day if I get hit with bird s***, then I will try my luck. (some say getting hit with bird s*** is lucky. lolol)
The amount spent on 5 passes can buy a Stattrak M4-A1 Chantico Fire already. T_T
