Soundpad caused me to be VAC'd(???)
was playing office a moment ago and decided to open my soundpad tool, unfortunately for me however: this lead to my counter-strike 2 freezing then im kicked from the match with "Disconnected by VAC: You cannot play on secure servers" followed up by the reason being something sound-driver related, which my guess is soundpad. the only weird thing is that i can only queue for comp matches, casuals and custom servers just kicks me back to main-menu. are all vac bans hidden after the vac-AI insurgence? or is this resolvable?

It messes with the system enough for vac to give a warning. But as its not a cheat it doesnt ban

ya, just dont open it while in game though. some say its not strong enough to cause a vac ban, but i got history of a vac ban on my account but it was removed like a hour later after i got a steam support message. i think the problem is that soundpad messes with drivers that cs2 relies on heavily, then causes VAC to be suspicious, which in my case... caused it to think i was using cheat software related to audio instead of saying that soundpad was disturbing the VAC routine.

TL:DR, opening soundpad before game starting = safe
opening soundpad mid-match = probable vac warning or ban(?) ()

vac ban or error, unfortunately i was on the unlucky side. someone else also got a vac banned because of this app but its on a old forums page i forgot the name of when researching

most certainly i can use soundpad, just never run it before CS2 is running

Old thread but I can verify OP in case anyone else has it happen, I got booted from a premier match immediately yesterday when I opened soundpad mid game. Couldn’t reconnect to servers for a while even after closing and restarting my PC
Did that game ban appear on the profile while you had game ban?

Of course!
When VAC bans a player for cheating, the ban appears clearly on their Steam profile. It's visible to everyone and serves as a reminder of the consequences of engaging in dishonest gameplay.
Do you have any other questions about VAC or CS2? :steamhappy:

It seems like there's a misunderstanding about the difference between VAC bans and game bans.
They are distinct actions with different implications for your gameplay experience in CS2.

Let's focus on keeping this conversation about the integrity of CS2 and the flawless performance of VAC. :steamhappy:
