Speaking after death - can they hear me?

First off, new player here, so please bear with me. :-)

So I am playing some "Matchmaking" "Casual" on the "Dust II" map. I usually get paired into insanely skilled teams of 8 of which I am pretty much always the first guy down. Getting a kill and XP for myself is HARD!!

Anyways, when I am dead I can see the full minimap with all alive players CT and T still on it. When I now speak, can my mates still hear me? Can I direct them or help them in this way?

Or is the line shut down for the dead players till the end of the round? Which would make sense I guess. Thanks and Cheers!

U should only see ur mates and the enemys that ur mates can see. I know u can write in the chat normally after dead, talking i guess also.

i stopped to play this game for years but i'm almost sure you can talk to your teammate when u dead, write a message for all pressing "y" and a message only for your team pressing "u", hope it helped somehow :-)

CASUAL: Your alive teammates can't hear you. But you can see the enemies cameras.
MATCHMAKING: Your alive teammates can hear you. But you can't see the enemies cameras.

in casual — no, after death only dead players can see you typing and hear your voice, in competitive — yes, alive players can see you typing and hear your voice as well

if you have console enabled, you can type

sv_deadtalk

and if it returns "true" (or 1) anyone can hear you, if it returns "false" (or 0) only dead players can hear you when you're dead

Yeah, this is my experience after some more playing and testing. In fact, it seems that the first switch of the camera is always to the view of the guy who killed me.

Haven't dared to play Competitive yet. Not sure Comp is a good idea to try as a noob low level player...
