Steam overlay starts flicking

Hello,

I have also another problem with CS2 - as soon as I open the Steam overlay, it does not open correctly and just starts to flicker in the background. The only chance to get rid of it, is to restart the game.

Maybe one of you can help me?

Is it specifically on counter strike or on other games aswell?

If its for counter strike only then your in game resolution might be the problem, try changing the resolution and aspect ratio then see, also try changing the windowed modes just in case

If its common in every game then i believe its some problem with your graphics software, otherwise you can try reinstalling cs2 aswell if you are not particularly sure about it

And judging by your past posts, it appears that you had changed your resolution and tried implementing the 4:3 stretch, try changing it and also do check if your monitor AND the graphics software support that resolution, if not then you can always add a new custom resolution in your graphics software, be it Nvidia or Amd, there are videos on ytb for that

Thank you very much for the detailed answer.
It is only in CS2 and the problem occured the First time yesterday evening. From start of CS2 till now I always played with 4:3 and 1280x960 stretched resolution. No problem with the monitor or PC and it worked well.
Then I tried a 16:9 with 1920 x 1080 and I was not able to switch it back. From this time on the game starts only not stretched and I did not change a thing. From this time on the flickering starts and I don’t know what is different.

Steam/Settings/In game and deactivate "Scale Steam Overlay text and icons to match monitor settings"
