CS2 getting kicked for file verification after verifying files immediately before launch
As the title suggests, even with file verification, it still claims files are corrupted so either CS2 file verification is broken or steam file verification is broken, and trying to immediately relaunch (as after that error message, verifying takes at minimum 10 minutes before it even starts doing any read i/o on the disk) it is stuck on downloading content, so this will be my third comp ban in a week, really hope they fix whatever is going on as this has only happened with the recent updates (for the updates earlier than that, didn't need to verify before launch period)

They won’t be able to fix something happening on your end. Did you follow the link provided on how you can fix this issue?

That is the thing, not sure if it is really an issue on my end (depends on where the error message originates from (could be from the game's own internal code or a response from the server perhaps)) because verifying the game before launch should mean that the game is indeed fine and has no corrupted files (unless the steam file verification code has bugs or the CS code has file verification bugs). So I have done the best I can to ensure it is not an issue on my end with the tools provided which leads me to believe it is either a steam bug or CS bug (client or server wise)

Not sure what the link provided would be, am also making a steam support request as I have done everything correct to prevent this issue

If you didn’t even follow the link provided you have NOT done your best to prevent this.

Why is it you don’t think it’s an issue on your end, are you getting cooldowns?

Could you humor me with the link as if it is say... in game then I am still waiting on the game to launch back up

Yes I am getting cooldowns (at least the past 2 times, this time have not been able to get my game back up yet (still waiting on steam) to see if I have cooldown) and I basically explained why I don't think it is an issue on my end in the previous posts, if it is indeed a corrupted file, then the steam file verification should catch that and download the correct file and replace the corrupted file with the correct file, moreover this issue hasn't occurred with 0 file verification in the previous updates and just the other day, the CS2 team did push an update that hard crashed the game after 15-30 seconds of being open (multiple people reported so wasn't my environment specific issue) so it doesn't seem out of the realm of possibility that it is an error/bug on their side rather than my own.

Cooldowns would suggest its an issue on your end. Why do you think its not anyways?

Oh, my apologizes, I forgot that you didn't know the exact text of the error message I received, it was not a VAC error but I appreciate the link, the error was "Content file /path/to/cs2/game/csgo/pak01.vpk is corrupt. Verify integrity of game files." So that is the actual error and it even says the fix which I ensured I performed a verify before launch which means it most likely is a bug in the steam "Verify integrity of game files" logic or the logic that CS2 uses to deem a file corrupted as opposed to an error on my end. I have made a Steam support request so hopefully they will have better insight (assuming they will respond which they may not, I can only imagine how many requests they get), I mainly made this post so if others experience this, they won't be going crazy if it is indeed a bug in the software but the help that you (or anyone) tries to offer is appreciated!

I ensured I performed a verify before launch which means it most likely is a bug in the steam
That would suggest that at all.. wtf

Steam support has NOTHING to do with these issues...

Following the steps ive provided will probably fix the issue youre having. Youre clearly having something messing with your files. But it seems you dont even want to fix the issue youre having which is odd.

They might not have caused the issue but they may know a way to help or pass the info along to either the steam client developers (optimisticly) if it is a steam client file verify bug or pass it along to the cs2 team if it is a cs2 file verify bug, or perhaps it will be some very weird environment specific issue (not saying it is impossible it has something to do with my environment, just with the specific error it seems unlikely given the steps I have done)

I have looked at the thread and unfortunately most of these apply for windows not linux so they are.... not applicable but for the ones that are, the only one is really the restart the computer one which doesn't appear to be the issue either given that once I relaunch the game in the past (verify before launch), other gamemodes don't claim that file is corrupted, so restarting does not seem like it'd be a very reliable solution, I will definitely add that to the steps (restart, verify, launch) for once my cooldown is over and see if that is indeed reliable. If it is, I will report back unless you have other info you want or other things you think I could try as well.

Edit: found that this is an old issue so it is good to know it is not something on my end/not environment specific (most likely) https://steamcommunity.com/app/730/discussions/0/3873714328955827898/?ctp=7
